We are delighted to announce the loan signing of Albert Eames!

19-year-old Albert Eames joins on loan from Championship side Watford. He can operate on the right hand side of defence or in midfield. Albert joined Watford at Under 8’s level and has since featured for the Hornets’ academy teams. He has made his first team debut for Watford, being introduced as a last-minute substitute on the final day of the 23/24 season, away to Middlesbrough.

Manager Robbie Simpson said: “With Oscar Thorn being recalled by Colchester the depth in the squad just looked a little light, particularly in the full back areas.

We’re delighted to be able to bring Albert in from Watford and I personally know the guys at Watford really well and we spoke to them over the summer about potential young players that they may loan out, and Albert was mentioned.

As soon as the timing was right we would have loved to get Albert in and right now the timing is right for both clubs so we are are delighted to bring him in.

He’s really highly sought after, they have given him a long term deal, he has been with the first team a lot in terms of training and the next stage of his development is to go out and get regular men’s football and we’re really looking forward to seeing Albert in a Claret shirt!”

Welcome to the Clarets Albert!
