We are delighted to announce that Jett Murphy, Lewis Hayes, Jack Camina, Lester Ward & Taylor Legg have all signed registration forms with the club, as they continued their journey on the Clarets pathway.
Murphy, Hayes & Camina will all now enter their second year in the Chelmsford City Academy whilst also featuring for our Under 21s.
Ward and Legg have now completed their 2 years with the Chelmsford City Academy and have been promoted into the Chelmsford City Under 21s, as they continue their Clarets Pathway journey.
Head of Academy Mickey Spillane said: “It’s really good news that these players will continue on the Chelmsford City pathway. They all had superb seasons in 2024-25, which culminated in them making their first-team debuts. We look forward to them continuing their journeys with us, gaining more experience and pushing for a spot within the first-team squad. This highlights the strength of our academy and the club’s ethos, and serves well to our young local players looking to progress into professional football.”
Head of Player Pathway Rob Moore said: “Signing five academy boys into our pathway is a proud day for the football club and I’m delighted for the players, who fully deserve the recognition. All five will be promoted to the U21’s and feature on a regular basis, which is exactly how we want our pathway to look. In addition, there will be the possibilities of loan moves to gain more experience.
“We only want players within our setup who have the potential to one day become a regular in our first-team. Lester, Taylor, Lewis, Jett and Jack have all had a taste of it now but also appreciate the standard is getting higher and they’ll need another year at least of hard work and development to reach that goal. We believe they have a chance and will be working with them closely to grasp any opportunities throughout the season.”
Congratulations to all five and we look forward to seeing them progress on the Clarets Pathway!
