We are delighted to announce the signing of striker George Alexander!

Alexander, 22, has a wealth of National League South experience, having been on loan at Slough Town, Welling United and Dartford previously. He came through the academy of Championship side Millwall, making his first team debut in May 2019. Following his departure, he switched to Bromley, where he got National League football and found himself on the scoresheet 6 times. Over the past 2 seasons, he has spent time in the National League South on loan. This season, combined between spells at Arbour Park and Princes Park, he has amassed 24 league appearances, scoring 7.

Robbie Simpson gave his thoughts on the signing: “Obviously with Mo Bettamer getting recalled, we were left pretty light in the forward department.

We wanted to bring in extra competition for Freddie (Hockey) and Callum (Jones) and George does exactly that.

He scores goals at this level and has been an asset to any team he has been at this season, playing in this league. We are excited to bring him to the football club and add to the great squad we have already got.

He will give us a bit of extra push for the tail end of the season.

Me and Spills actually played with his dad at Brentford, so if he is anything like him then we know he will be a real asset to us.

We know George is chomping at the bit to be here and really help us by scoring the goals that he can.

We are really looking forward to seeing him in a Claret shirt!”

Everyone at Chelmsford City is delighted to see George join, and we can’t wait to see him put on a Claret shirt!
