Latest recruit, Arjanit Krasniqi, spoke with ClaretsTV after the Essex Derby against Braintree Town to discuss his move after departing Dover Athletic last week.

How the move came about…

“I’d left Dover by mutual consent and had some interest come in elsewhere, but it was a no brainer to be fair” said Arjanit. “Looking at the team, the way that we’re playing, I thought that’s where I’d go”

Style of play…

“I like to get on the ball and make things happen, I’m more of a technical player. I just want to play and pass, pass pass!”

Previous encounters with the Clarets…

“Funnily enough, I’ve never won against Chelmsford! I’ve played 3-4 games and I’ve never won! After playing against Chelmsford for Dover earlier this season, I thought it was a good game. The way the game was going, it was all on the floor, so a really good game,”

Familiar faces in Reece Grant and Khale Da Costa…

“I’ve played with Reece this year and Khale last season with Braintree as well. I told them I was thinking about coming to Chelmsford and they helped out with the move.

“I know a few of the other boys as well from my Colchester [United] days, such as Callum Jones, Cameron James, and Louis Dunne. It made things easier to come here already knowing some of the boys.”

On making his debut in familiar surroundings…

“It was a tough game. I haven’t played for about three weeks due to postponements, so it felt nice to be out there again, get my legs going and I was happy to get 90 minutes.

“I thought the way the game went, it was a bit tough, and it was a proper battle in midfield. You could tell those two boys [Liam Trotter & Henry Ochieng] were up for it as well, so it was a good all round game

“It felt like a loss after being ahead twice, so it would have been better with the three points. Obviously other teams around us in the league have dropped points as well, but we’ve got to take the point and go again on Wednesday [against Wealdstone].”

Looking to get regular minutes…

“Hopefully!” said the former Kosovo U21s captain. “I’m cup tied but I’ll be there on Wednesday supporting the boys!

“I’m really excited [to be here]. Hopefully we can push on and give a title charge a proper go and see where we go, hopefully get promotion!”
