Welcome back to the Clarets Jazzi Barnum-Bobb!
Jazzi re-joins the Clarets after departing in the summer to join league rivals Hornchurch. He initially rejoined the club in July 2022 following a spell in 2018 & 2019, before he joined National League Wrexham . In summer 2023, he was named club vice captain, deputising for Dave Winfield. He went on to make 38 appearances across the 23/24 season, functioning anywhere across the back 4. Jazzi rejoins the club on 119 appearances, having scoring just 1 goal for the Clarets, a memorable strike away to Weymouth in August 2023.
Manager Robbie Simpson said: “Jazzi is one that we wanted to keep in the summer but he obviously got offered a very good deal at Hornchurch but sometimes these things don’t work out.
We have had it with players in the past, Charlie Ruff being one, that it just does not work out for them elsewhere and their love for Chelmsford and how we do things makes them really want to come back.
As soon as Jazzi expressed and interest to come back, we jumped at the chance really.
I think I’ve said it multiple times that character like Jazzi in your squad help make you successful.
He is a very consistent performer, one of our most consistent performer last season and his attitude is infectious among the group.
He is someone that instantly everyone takes a liking too and also listens too, his communication is great which is perhaps something that we have been lacking this season.
We are delighted to have Jazzi back and can’t wait to see him put on that Claret shirt again!”
