Opposition:

Isthmian League Premier Division side Billericay Town will hope they can complement their strong 2024-25 season so far with an extended Essex Senior Cup run.

Gary McCann’s men sit 4th in the third tier of non-league football, and have enjoyed a productive campaign up to now. League-wise, the Blues are undefeated at New Lodge this season and possess the joint-strongest defensive record in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

Montel McKenzie, Matt Johnson, Frankie Merrifield, Jack Paxman and Tyrell Miller-Rodney are all part of Billericay’s arsenal of experienced players who have previously played in the sixth tier.

Like City, Tuesday’s opponents entered the Essex Senior Cup in third round of the competition and beat Concord Rangers in the last round to set up this week’s tie.

Competition rules:

Robbie Simpson is allowed to name five substitutes on the bench in this competition, and the manager can introduce all five substitutes if he wishes to do so.

Team News:

We are pleased to announce that following an appeal, the red card issued to Archie Tamplin in our game vs Worthing has been rescinded, and he will not be suspended. We would like to thank the FA and the appeal board for the swift action and decision.

Jazzi Barnum-Bobb is cup tied and ineligible to play.

Chelmsford City Head of Medical Performance Arron Benstead offered supporters a comprehensive player fitness update last week.
