We are delighted to announce the signing of Goalkeeper Billy Eastwood after a successful trial period!

The 19-year-old joins after a long stint with Premier League side Crystal Palace. Billy joined the Eagles’ youth setup in 2014 and went on to progress through the ranks. He primarily featured for the youth teams in their respective leagues as well as the FA Youth Cup. He got a taste of men’s football in the 2024-25 season, featuring on loan at Broadbridge Heath. He has been part of the Chelmsford City squad for a few weeks now, having been training and playing on a trial basis but joins the squad with just over one week left until the season kicks off.

Upon joining the club, Eastwood said: “I’ve been training with the club for a few weeks, it’s been really good and really enjoyable.

“To be working with Justin who is a really good coach and Chris who is a good, senior keeper has been great.
“I’m excited for the season ahead, it’s going to be a good one for the club.”

Manager Angelo Harrop said: I’m really happy to bring Billy in, he’s a highly technical keeper who has a fantastic attitude.

“It’s great that’s he’s agreed to join as our number 2, he’ll fight for the number 1 spot and that competition will do Haighy well.
“It’s also a great opportunity for Billy to learn off Chris, they’ll help each other massively.

A big warm welcome to Billy and we look forward to seeing him in action!
