Chelmsford City v Bromley, Pre-Season Friendly, The Dunmow Group Community Stadium, Saturday 26th July 2025, 3:00pm kick-off.

Chelmsford City’s penultimate home friendly of pre-season takes place this weekend against Bromley at The Dunmow Group Community Stadium.

Before welcoming Premier League outfit Arsenal to Essex for next week’s sold-out clash in CM1, an XI from the League Two club will be this weekend’s visitors.

With an away trip to Witham Town sandwiched in between these two home games, City supporters should expect the intensity to be turned up even further on the pitch in the final week of pre-season friendlies before preparations for the club’s National League South opener against Horsham begin.

Here’s all that Clarets fans need to know ahead of the game…

Opposition:

Former National League South outfit Bromley are now plying their trade in the Football League following a successful first season in League Two. The Ravens were promoted from the National League in 2024 and ended the 24/25 campaign sitting 11th in the fourth tier. A number of former Chelmsford City players contributed to Andy Woodman’s side’s successful season, with Clarets academy graduate Danny Imray playing a starring role alongside former forward Michael Cheek, who ended the season as Bromley’s top scorer.

Preparations for their second season in League Two are well underway; Woodman’s men have played friendlies against Tottenham Hotspur, Rotherham United, Lincoln City, Chelsea and Crystal Palace so far in pre-season. The Ravens have another friendly against higher opposition lined up this weekend against Championship side Millwall, which is taking place on the same day as the club’s clash with the Clarets. This means a team comprising several academy players could be set to make the journey from South East London to Essex.

Should a side made up largely of academy prospects visit The Dunmow Group Community Stadium, then Angelo Harrop’s still look set to come up against the latest talents from Bromley’s successful youth system. The Ravens’ academy has produced several highly promising and impressive players in recent years, including Soul Kader, Kellen Fisher and Ben Krauhaus. Fisher has established himself as a mainstay in Championship outfit Norwich City’s first-team after impressing at youth and senior level in a Bromley shirt, while Krauhaus also caught the eye of clubs higher up the pyramid after joining Premier League side Brentford last year. He has since returned to the Ravens on a season-long loan ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Team news:

Those available for selection in Angelo Harrop’s squad will be looking to make their mark once again as the new season draws nearer.
