Chesham United v Chelmsford City, National League South, The Meadow, Tuesday 21st January 2025, 7:45pm kick-off.
Chelmsford City’s busy fixture schedule continues this week with a visit to Buckinghamshire to face Chesham United.
The Clarets’ win over Hornchurch on Saturday at the EMJ Community Stadium marked the first of five league fixtures for Robbie Simpson’s side which are set to take place across a two-week period.
Tuesday’s opponents were also in action at the weekend and impressively beat Maidstone United at home, inflicting a first league defeat on the Kent club since their 5-1 loss to City back in September.
This win maintained Chesham’s one point advantage over Chelmsford City in the National League South table – a gap Robbie Simpson’s side will hope to reverse to a two point margin in their favour after full-time at The Meadow.

Opposition:
Chesham have quickly adapted to life in the National League South after their promotion last season. Joint-managers James Duncan and Michael Murray have shared the dugout responsibilities since their appointments in 2018 and led the Generals to the Southern League Premier South title in 2023-24.
Duncan and Murray have built on their side’s successes from last season. Ahead of Tuesday’s game, they have guided Chesham into the top half of the National League South table following a recent four-game unbeaten run.
Forward Nathan Minhas has been one of the Generals’ key men this season and will be one to watch on Tuesday night. Minhas has extensive experience playing in the sixth tier and has featured 23 times for Chesham in 24-25, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
Team news:
Ryan Blackman made his return to the pitch against Hornchurch on Saturday after 140 days sidelined through injury.
Ruaridh Donaldson, Archie Tamplin, Sam Oguntayo and Finley Wilkinson were forced off due to injuries against the Urchins. Manager Robbie Simpson stated in his post-match interview that he hopes at least two of these four players will be available to play at The Meadow.
Simpson also revealed forward Jordan Greenidge could be available for selection again for the first time since his injury against Weymouth last month.
