Robbie Simpson’s Chelmsford City squad have begun their pre-season schedule this week.
A first pre-season training session on Monday morning saw retained players such as Callum Watts and Louis Dunne, alongside last season’s Young Player of the Year Freddie Hockey, all return to action. The retained trio were joined by a host of academy players and several of this summer’s new arrivals, including goalkeeper Ted Collins, defender Sam Oguntayo, midfielder Archie Tamplin, and winger Kalvin Kalala.

Yesterday evening then saw Simpson’s Clarets meet for their second training session of pre-season. More new arrivals, including defender Geofrey Okonkwo, midfielder Ryan Blackman, left back Ruaridh Donaldson, and forward Jake Hyde all enjoyed their first training sessions as City players.
Retained defender Cameron James was also present at Tuesday’s training session, which again took place under the watchful eyes of Robbie Simpson, Mickey Spillane, Rob Moore and Adam Drew. Prior to training, the players were put through regular pre-season testing by Head of Medical Performance Arron Benstead.
