Chelmsford City V Dorking Wanderers, National League South, EMJ Community Stadium, Saturday 9th November 2024, 3pm kick-off.
Chelmsford City welcome Dorking Wanderers to Essex this weekend.
The Clarets return to home soil after playing their last two National League South games away from home, both of which ended in draws. These results extended City’s unbeaten run in the league to four games.
Marc White’s Dorking Wanderers side come into the game on the back of a recent good run of their own, having lost once in their previous eight league matches.
Here’s all that Clarets supporters need to know ahead of the game…
Team & match stats:
- Both teams have only tasted defeat once in their previous six National League South games.
- Marc White’s men are the division’s top highest goalscorers alongside Slough Town (28 goals).
- Chelmsford City and Dorking have faced each other four times. The Clarets are yet to have recorded a win over Wanderers.

Opposition:
Wanderers’ two-year spell in the National League was ended by their relegation from the division at the end of last season. However, manager Marc White is hoping his side’s second stay in the National League South will be a short one.
The Surrey-based club came into this season as one of the title favourites, but experienced a less-than-ideal start in their return to the sixth tier after only winning three of their opening eight league matches of 2024-25.
Since getting key players back up to full fitness and beating Hornchurch at the beginning of last month though, White’s side have picked up form-wise and have won four games in their last seven.
The form of Alfie Rutherford has been key to Wanderers’ recent impressive results. Rutherford has netted four goals in his side’s last seven matches and has competed with former Chelmsford City and Yeovil Town man Rhys Murphy for the starting berth up front in White’s team this season.
Team News:
Arthur Penney suffered a shoulder injury last week against Torquay United.
Ruaridh Donaldson, Louis Dunne, Kane Crichlow and Ryan Blackman are continuing to progress in their recoveries from respective injuries.
