Chelmsford City v Hemel Hempstead Town, National League South, EMJ Community Stadium, Monday 10th February 2025, 7:45pm kick-off.
Chelmsford City’s busy fixture schedule continues when the Clarets welcome Hemel Hempstead Town to Essex on Monday night.
City’s quick return to action comes just over 48 hours after Robbie Simpson’s side earned an impressive 4-3 away win against Farnborough.
Kane Crichlow’s hat trick in Hampshire helped his side climb into the top half of the National League South table. Building on the momentum from Farnborough with another victory on Monday will see Simpson’s men climb to 10th in the table.
Hemel Hempstead Town were also in action on Saturday and picked up their fourth win in their last six games, continuing their impressive run of form. The Tudors are three points behind Chelmsford City in the league standings and will look to continue their recent ascent up the league by securing another three points.
Here’s all that Clarets supporters need to know ahead of the game…
Team and match stats:
- City are unbeaten in their last five games at the EMJ Community Stadium (W2, D3).
- Hemel Hempstead Town are one of the league’s in-form sides at the moment – only Worthing (16) have earned more points than the 13 Hemel have accumulated in their last six league games.
- The Tudors have won two of their last three visits to the EMJ Community Stadium. Each of the last three games between the sides at the EMJ Community Stadium have ended with a 2-1 scoreline.

Opposition:
New Hemel Hempstead Town manager Lee Allinson has restored stability to the Tudors after inheriting a team which was in a free fall. Allinson took over at the Focus Community Arena in December following the departure of Bobby Wilkinson. Wilkinson guided Hemel to their best ever start in the National League South, winning eight of his side’s first ten games and taking them to the top of the table.
However, an accumulation of injuries and poor results following matchweek ten hampered his team’s progress, and Hemel dropped down to 17th in the table. Wilkinson left Hemel on December 6th following a winless run in the league which stretched back nearly two months to September 7th. Hemel moved quickly to appoint Allinson shortly after Wilkinson’s departure, and results have began to improve since the 39-year-old’s arrival.
Former Hendon boss Allinson has won five of his nine matches in charge of the Tudors, with four of these victories coming in Hemel’s last six games, making them one of the league’s form sides heading into their visit to Essex on Monday. Winger Brandon Barzey has been in fine form since Allinson’s arrival – he has scored eight goals since Allinson’s reign began. Five of Barzey’s eight strikes have come in Hemel’s last three games, meaning City’s backline will have to be on high alert to stop the 25-year-old from continuing his red hot run of form.

Team news:
Striker Jordan Greenidge will miss Monday’s match as he serves the last game of his suspension.
Meanwhile, Greenidge’s fellow forwards Saleem Akanbi and Freddie Hockey remain sidelined but continue to progress in their recoveries from injury.
Captain Cameron James also looks set to miss out again.
