We can confirm that Henry Ochieng is set to depart the Clarets.

Manager Robbie Simpson said: “We have been speaking on a regular basis with Henry over the summer.

He has obviously been a fantastic player for us, over the last couple of years really, with a brief stint at Aldershot in between his 2 spells with us.

He is a great professional, a great player and he serves a real purpose in a side and I’m not sure that there is many players that are better at stopping counter attacks and breaking up play than him, he has been brilliant at that for us.

Henry will be exploring other opportunities now, as it gets closer towards pre season he wants some real clarity and to be settled going in to the new season so Henry is open to exploring other opportunities now and we’ve been open and honest with each other about where each other stand and I think now that we are nearing the time of getting back into football and training Henry really wants to be settled.

Unfortunately, at this present time, we are not in a position to offer him that security and clarity in terms of a deal, we won’t rule it out in the future but as things stand Henry will be exploring other opportunities.

We will keep in contact before that actually happens of course, and if things change either way then obviously we will be open to having more serious conversations but I think for the meantime Henry will be exploring other options and looking elsewhere.

A big thank you from us for everything he has given for Chelmsford in his time with us and we will be sure to keep in touch with him.”

Thank you for all your efforts in a Clarets shirts Henry, and best of luck for the future!
