We are delighted to announce the signing of Attacker Ibby Akanbi!
27-year-old Ibby Akanbi joins the Clarets after playing for St Albans last year. Ibby featured 22 times for the Saints last season, finding the back of the net 6 times. He also featured for Dartford on a months loan deal, towards the end of the season. He has also previously featured for Tonbridge, Worthing, Aldershot and Maidstone. He has been on trail with the Clarets during pre-season.
Manager Robbie Simpson said: “Ibby has been with us here and there throughout pre-season and he has done really well!
He played in a behind closed doors game initially and scored a couple of goals and I think that he has fitted in with the lads really well.
Although he has not played much in the last few weeks he has shown great signs of something that we want in terms of adding a different dimension to our forward line.
He is really experienced at this level, he has scored goals at this level and played for top teams at this level so we are really excited to be adding Ibby to our options up the top end and providing some good competition.“
