Chelmsford City can confirm the departure of Winger, Jamie Yila, by Mutual Consent

Jamie Yila played 33 games for the Clarets scoring 5 in all competitions since signing for the club from Cray Wanderers in July 2022.

Manager Robbie Simpson spoke about Yila departing the club explaining “It’s tough decisions at this stage of the season, we had a really good squad for the game against Hampton and Richmond and we had to leave someone out of the squad. From the great performance we had against Dulwich Hamlet we weren’t really inclined to change the team and with Reece being back fit we decided to go with the extra forward as opposed to the extra wide man on the bench. Ade was back fit as well and we definitely wanted him to be back, and we’re thankful we did that.”

“Jamie found himself out of the squad and that isn’t to say that he wasn’t going to be part of the team going forward, he might’ve been in contention to start in future games. Football is a squad game, especially when you get towards the business end of the season and you need everybody pushing each other on whether they’re in or out of the team. Jamie felt like he wanted to be guaranteed playing time each week and I couldn’t give him that so we mutually agreed, for him, that if he wanted that he would be best he seeked his football elsewhere.”

“He gave a lot for this football club and we thank him for his efforts and wish him the best wherever he goes.”

We would like to place on record our thanks to Jamie Yila for his efforts during his time at the club, and wish him the best for the future.
