We can confirm that John White has agreed terms to be part of Angelo Harrop’s backroom staff for the 2025-26 season!

John White joins the Clarets after assisting Angelo Harrop at Braintree Town. White enjoyed a successful playing career and is no stranger to the county of Essex, having played over 500 times for Colchester United and Southend United combined. He joined Braintree ahead of the 22/23 season and featured in their playoff challenging and Essex Senior Cup final winning campaign. In December 2023 it was announced that he would be assisting Harrop with the Iron as they then went on to win promotion to the National League at the conclusion of the season. White featured 9 times for the Iron whilst also being on the touchline. He officially announced his retirement in May 2024.

Upon joining the club White said: “I am over the moon. Obviously, I’ve been here before many times, both as a player and management team and just know what this club can offer. Again, really looking forward to what’s to come and after speaking to the chairman and going through the plans for the future. It gets me really excited about what’s to come and to watch this space really.

“Working with Angelo again, I was hoping it would happen, if it didn’t it didn’t but I think we have a great relationship. We trust each other implicitly and I think we complement each other really well.

“We have different styles of doing things but I think overall it kind of works really well that we have those different sides to us and I think where we both have such high expectations of both ourselves and the people we work with. It works really well in that we try to get the best out of everyone around us and ourselves especially.”

Angelo Harrop said: “I’m delighted to have John on board. We had so much success together when he worked with me previously and he brings a wealth of experience.

“He is someone that I can really trust and knows exactly how I work. Having worked with him in a full time setup I already know what his capabilities are and what he can bring to us.

“He has great knowledge and experience from both playing and coaching and I know that will be vital for us on and off the pitch this season.”

We look forward to seeing John work with the Clarets in the new season!
