Striker Callum Jones has joined Isthmian Premier side Billericay Town on loan!
Jones has featured 37 times for Simpson’s side this season, finding the net 13 times. He has been prolific in the cup competitions, netting 10 goals in 12 games. He joins Billericay where they currently sit 3rd, pushing for the playoffs.
Manager Robbie Simpson said: “Callum is going to join Billericay on loan for the time being.
Callum has had a few years with really bad injuries and has not been able to play much football, this season has been his first full season when he has been fit and able to play games in mens football.
In recent weeks he has not played much and he wants to play games, which is totally understandable, and we also want him to play games as well, to keep sharp for when we might need him.
He is going to go to Billericay, it is a season long loan but we have a 24 hour recall after the initial 28 days, so we have some security there.
We absolutely love Callum and feel like he has done exceptionally well this year but obviously game time has been limited in recent weeks and it will him do the world, with him hopefully helping Billericay secure their playoff spot.
We will see what happens after the initial 28 days.”
Everyone at Chelmsford City wishes Callum the best of luck at Billericay, and looks forward to seeing him return to the Clarets!
