Chelmsford City can announce that midfielder Kai Yearn has been recalled from his loan with the Clarets by parent club Cambridge United.
Yearn, 17, has impressed on loan with the Clarets with his passing and technical ability and was on his second spell with the club after being recalled initially by Cambridge in December. Kai has also impressed in Cambridge’s run to the FA Youth Cup Quarter-Finals where they were eliminated by Premier League Arsenal in injury time, with Kai scoring to put the U’s in front at the Emirates last week.
Chelmsford City manager Robbie Simpson commented, “Cambridge United are fighting for their lives to stay in League One this season and they are pulling on all their resources to do so and they feel like Kai can be a real option for them in helping them win games.
We’re really thankful for Cambridge for letting him come to us but we are obviously disappointed he can’t stay with us until the end of the season. I would like to say a big thanks to Kai for all his efforts in his spells with us this season and we wish him all the very best and we hope he gets his chance to help Cambridge stay in League One.
I think it goes without saying that we will try to bring someone in as we don’t have an out and out number 10 in our squad now so we are definitely looking to find one of those.”
