Chelmsford City FC can confirm that Winger Khale Da Costa has departed the club by Mutual Consent.
Da Costa featured 24 times for the Clarets since joining in July 2022 scoring 4 goals including a hattrick against Romford in the FA Cup 3rd Round Qualifier back in October.
Manager Robbie Simpson spoke on the departure of Da Costa “We’ve mutually agreed with Khale for him to find a new club. Khale’s a very good player and he’s shown that in bits and starts this season but injuries have taken their toll on him.”
“He needs to go out and play games, and with the players we’ve got now in wide areas and him coming back form injuries and illnesses, he’s going to find it hard to get regular game time, regular starts in the team. We’ve had a conversation with Khale and we’ve both agreed that it was the best course of action for him to go and find a new club to get some games between now and the end of the season.”
“We really like Khale, he’s got a great attitude. We thank him for every effort he’s given us this season and we really do wish him well for the future, and he will be welcome back to the Melbourne Community Stadium whenever he wants.”
“He’s been a big character in the group, the lads love him and we love him and we’re here for him whenever he needs us!”
We would like to express our thanks to Khale for his time at the club and we wish him the very best for the future.
