August 23rd

I hope everyone is well and have enjoyed the start of the season.

It is obviously early days, but I think we would all agree that the squad looks well equipped and strong for the season ahead, recruitment has been good, and the group look to be aware of what is expected during matches, well done to Robbie and his management team on what has been a good start & good luck for tonight at Chippenham.

The pitch itself continues to have work carried out, after the St Albans game there was another application of top dress, the natural rainwater that it really craves doesn’t look like it will arrive anytime soon, therefore a continuous watering program continues. Generally, the pitch is in great condition, thanks to Adam for his hard work.

Thank you to the volunteers that have given up their valuable time to help move Ro-Ro’s around and generally preparing the ground for the early fixtures, these thanks are extended to matchdays too, where like so many other non-league clubs, we could not function without them.

On that point, due to Athletic fixtures, we have been unable to move the Cro-Ro into place until now, this is planned to be completed prior to the Concord Rangers match on Bank Holiday Monday, thanks to those who have committed to help with that.

It pleases me to announce that we have added new members to both our Matchday Volunteering group and Media teams, Jack Dean & Josh Lowe have joined respectively, welcome to the club guys.

I am also pleased to announce that we have appointed Steven Barron as Club Development Officer, Steven has a great deal of experience within Football, I will detail his role in a separate post, welcome to The Clarets Steve.

The club have engaged with 3 new sponsors in the past weeks and continue to discuss opportunities with other local businesses.

We will be purchasing a portable pitch side Defib Unit that our medical team will have on hand at all matches and training, I am currently identifying funding opportunities for this, however one will be purchase regardless

The carpet has been replaced, the feedback has been very positive, function bookings have seen an upturn already.

Following supporters’ feedback, I am in the process of having the cellar coolers & beer pumps serviced, to improve the quality and temperature of the beer.

The new Dugouts are still due to arrive on Sept 2nd, these do come in kit form, but we will do our upmost to get them in place for the fixture on the 3rd.

The stand camera needed some additional components to get it back fully operational, these will be here and installed this week and therefore will be in use for the next game.

We plan to undertake some general maintenance tasks on the turnstiles as some have become stiff over time.

I have also planned a schedule of works, which will obviously depend on funds being available, these include, redecorating, changing room improvements, toilet facility improvements, kitchen improvements and general facility upgrades.
