We can confirm that we have recalled midfielder Louis Dunne from Hayes & Yeading!

Louis joined and debuted for Hayes on New Years Day, after making his return to football a few days prior in the Tolleshunt D’Arcy Memorial Cup. He made 14 appearances for Mark Molesly’s side, scoring once. His goal was against Beaconsfield Town where former Claret Mo Bettamer set him up to put a thunderous strike home. Watch Louis’ goal in these highlights here, with his strike making it 3-2!

Manager Robbie Simpson said: “With a few injuries we are picking up and suspensions still lingering over us, although we will be appealing Finley Barbrook’s red card so hope he will not be suspended, we have recalled Louis.

We always had a contingency that if the squad was looking a little tired, or a little bare, then we had the option to recall him.

We will also have the option to recall Callum Jones, once his initial 28 days are up, so we always had these 2 as a contingency if we felt the squad needed it.

At this stage, with the squad looking how it is, with so many games in so many days and suspensions, injuries, little niggles building up, it is the right time to recall Louis.

He has been doing ever so well at Hayes and he went there with the view for us to recall him so he could get match sharp and play games. We are really thankful to Mark Molesley and Hayes as they have done an amazing job with him, and he has thoroughly enjoyed it, so we can’t speak highly enjoy of them.

We are really looking forward to getting Louis back!”

Everyone at Chelmsford City is delighted to see Louis return to play in a Claret shirt!
