We’re looking to add some Media Volunteers to our Media Team heading into the 2025-26 season!
These roles are perfect for students looking to make a career in the sports journalism or sports media industry or someone with creative flair keen to make his or her mark on the club’s media output.
About us:
Chelmsford City Football Club play in Step 6 of the English Football Leagues, in the Vanarama National League South. An exciting season lies ahead, with new manager Angelo Harrop taking the reigns of a full-time set of players. Be part of the Chelmsford City journey, led by Club Chairman Spencer Gore. Role & Responsibilities:
Role: Matchday Videographer – Chelmsford City Football Club
Position Type: Volunteer, Entry Level
Location: Chelmsford, Essex, UK
Responsibilities: As our matchday videographer your main task will be to capture the match footage which is uploaded to Hudl as per the National League’s requirements.
This will involve filming from just before kick off until after the full time whistle blows. You will be situated in the main stand beside the press box.
However, we are happy for you to also capture content before and after the game which can also be used.
Role: Pitchside Videographer – Chelmsford City Football Club
Position Type: Volunteer, Entry Level
Location: Chelmsford, Essex, UK
Responsibilities: As our pitchside videographer you would be tasked with capturing footage before, during and after games which can be clipped into short pieces for social media.
However, there would be much freedom to the role and it will be down to you to position yourself pitchside to make sure you’re capturing the best footage.
For example, we’d love all the key moments to be caught, as well as moments before and after matches such as warmups and celebrations.
Required Attributes:
– Passion for football and a solid knowledge of the game. We feel that knowing the game would enable you to adapt to filming better and be able to read the game.
– Basic knowledge of social media platforms and trends. We are open to hearing your ideas for things we could add to our media output, so knowledge of social media would help.
– Commitment to the team. We would like you to attend all home games if possible.
– Willingness to learn and contribute as part of the team.
– Having a mobile phone. Required for filming content. (Applicable to Pitchside Videographer)
Desired Attributes:
– Access to your own camera/recording equipment, which we would encourage you to use as part of the role. (Applicable to Pitchside Videographer)
– Prior experience within the football media industry.
Working hours:
– Matchday – Availability for home games and potentially away fixtures (Saturdays, some Mondays or Tuesdays, Bank Holidays & during the festive periods).
– Midweek – Occasional training sessions or potentially other events involving Chelmsford City Football Club.
