To add some clarity around the release of season tickets today I wanted to explain the situation.
At the fans forum before last, two concerns were raised by fans, firstly the cost of the online ticketing system we use and secondly the fact we hadn’t announced details of next seasons, season ticket prices. I explained we were already looking in to a new platform.
At this weeks fans forum on Monday, I was pleased to announce that both Dan and myself had agreed to freeze season tickets for the second year running despite increasing our budget considerably as a gesture to the fans. I also announced we had chosen a new better ticketing platform (the National League preferred supplier) that was also cheaper for the end user, the fans. I was asked when it would be live and people could use it to buy season tickets. I promised it would be live by the end of the season at the very latest, but if we could go live this week we would do all we could if that was what fans wanted.
This week the team has been working incredibly hard to try and ensure we could go live this week and at around 4.30pm today we thought we were ready to start selling tickets. In our rush to deliver what the fans had asked for I simply missed the fact that we hadn’t added the renewal option or early bird tickets. Human error on my behalf.
As soon as this was pointed out to me, I reached out to the team and these tickets will be added as soon as possible and hopefully live tomorrow morning.
I’m sorry for any confusion and as I’ve said a number of times, we will make mistakes, but always for the right reasons of trying to improve the club. The lesson learned is more haste less speed.
I can also confirm tickets sales on the day will remain frozen for the upcoming season.
Up the City!
