SIMPSON NAMED SEPTEMBER MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Robbie Simpson has been awarded the Vanarama National League South Manager of the Month award for September. It was a great month, playing 3 and winning all of them.
Our first test of the month saw us visit Maidstone United, who started the better side as they scored after 52 seconds to take the lead. But after that it was 1-way-traffic as Osman Foyo netted a first half brace to send the Clarets into the break with the lead. Charlie Ruff scored twice late on before Freddie Hockey added a fifth to wrap up a monumental victory at the Gallagher Stadium.
After that, the Clarets welcomed Jerry Gill’s Romans to the EMJ Community Stadium and once again were a class above. Arthur Penney gave City the lead after half an hour, netting his first goal for the club. The Clarets had to wait until the 72nd minute for another, as it was Osman Foyo who headed in from a Sam Oguntayo cross. And, once again Freddie Hockey added another late on, wrapping up a 3-0 victory.
After an excursion into the FA Cup to defeat Tilbury courtesy of a Charlie Ruff brace, the Clarets travelled to promoted Hornchurch and put on another show. There were only 2 goals in the game, both coming in the first half and Kane Crichlow was the one to break the deadlock, finishing another a brilliant give-and-go with Charlie Ruff. And Ruff was the man the apply the finish next, striking against his former side for what would be the second and last goal of the game.
Congratulations Robbie on a fantastic month!
