Phil Crowe provides a rundown of what has been happening during his first month at the Club.

Well, it has certainly been an interesting month…

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome.

I have obviously been very busy meeting people and preparing for the start of the season, so just an update on a few bits from me so far.

On the pitch, Robbie and his management team have been working hard putting together a competitive squad for next season, from what I have seen, the group look like they will be very competitive this season and look to have a good balance. I am really looking forward to the games starting.

Considerable work has been done on the pitch, it was disappointing to have to switch the Colchester game, however, with such a small window due to the Athletics season and lack of rain it was necessary. The pitch is now in a good state, there is still work ongoing and we aim to continue improvement over the coming months. Thanks to Adam for his hard work.

New dugouts have been ordered and are due to arrive on 2nd September.

The carpet has been replaced upstairs and at the time of writing, it is being replaced on the stairs and landing.

The carpet has been lifted in the Clarets Bar ready to be laid next week subject to it arriving, please bear with me, this will be completed asap.

The main stand camera is being repaired in the next week or so, I am just awaiting confirmation of the date from the contractors.

The trolley that the volunteers use to move the Cro-Ro’s has been repaired with all rams refurbished and hoses replaced.

Further improvements to the facilities are planned and I look forward to updating you on the progress soon.

I hope this will be received as positive steps and look forward to seeing as many as possible on the 6th August.
