Chelmsford City Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Arron Benstead to the role of Head of Medical ahead of our 2023/24 Vanarama National League South campaign
Arron Benstead joins the club as Head of Medical boasting a wealth of sporting experience being the director of his own Injury and Rehabilitation Clinic and has previously worked for Royston (across two spells), Bowers and Pitsea, Barnet FC Academy Saracen’s U23’s and most recently Concord Rangers. Arron is in the final stages of completing a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine.
Manager Robbie Simpson spoke on the appointment of Arron Benstead to Head of Medical. “When Tom [Hurding] informed me that commitment-wise with work, family and his other commitments outside of these he was going to have to step down as our Head of Medical, we were quick to get options in place. When we were doing our due diligence one name kept coming up as the ‘best in the business'”
“We’re delighted to welcome Arron to the Clarets, he comes with great recommendations and he has worked in football for quite a while now. Everyone we’ve spoken to couldn’t speak highly enough of him, his own clinic speaks for itself in how elite that looks and is. He will go above and beyond outside his remit as Head of Medical, he’s qualified in other aspects of sport, conditioning for example. We’re really pleased to bring Arron on board in the next step of our journey.”
Arron expressed his feelings on joining the Clarets in his new role “I’m really looking forward to working with Chelmsford City, it’s a great club with great ambitions. I’m excited to get started, to continue to drive standards within the medical department and help the team and club to achieve their short and longer-term goals. I pride myself on bringing evidence-based, high-quality care to everyone that I work with, which will ensure players stay fit and if injured, return back to play in a better position than they were pre-injury.”
We extend our welcome to Arron on joining the Clarets and look forward to seeing him work with the squad throughout pre-season and into the new campaign.
