We are delighted to announce that Midfielder Archie Tamplin will stay with the club for the 2025-26 season!

The 22-year-old joined the Clarets last summer, having impressed with Lewes the season prior. He made 38 appearances and scored 3 times on the South Coast on the 2023-24 season. His football journey started out with West Ham and Arsenal, playing there at youth level. He has also featured for Billericay Town in the National League South, who are no stranger to Chelmsford City. He went on to play 47 times and score 3 goals for the Clarets in the 2024-25 season, picking up the Young Player of the Season and the Away Coaches Player of the Season. He now resigns with the club ahead of our pre-season campaign.

Upon resigning with the club, Tamplin said: “I’m buzzing to be staying, I’ve been speaking with Spencer a lot over the summer and it’s great to finally have an agreement.

“We’ve got a brilliant squad and it may be a shock to the system being just me and Harry (from last season), but I’m excited for it.

“And I’m sorry for making the supporters wait, I’ve had plenty of messages so I can’t wait to be back and for us to have the backing of the Claret fans once again this season!”

A big warm welcome back to Archie and we look forward to seeing him in action!
