We are delighted to announce the loan signing of Alfie Bendle!
19-year-old Alfie Bendle joins on loan from League 2 side Colchester United. Bendle is a central midfielder, having applied his trade there in both the football league and the National League South previously. He has football league experience for both AFC Wimbledon and Forest Green Rovers, the latter of which he departed over the summer to join Colchester United. As for his National League South experience, Alfie has been on 2 separate loan spells with Eastbourne Borough, including featuring for the Sports last season in the Clarets’ 3-0 victory on the south coast.
Manager Robbie Simpson said: “Obviously with Louis going down injured on Monday night it added to our central midfield woes in terms of injuries and suspensions.
It just made total sense, I know we brought Jacob Bland back, but Louis going down left us even lighter and the time is right to bring someone in and we’re delighted to bring in Alfie who is a highly thought of central midfield player from Colchester.
He has been on loan at Eastbourne in this league so he’s played at this level, he knows what this level is all about and we know he can easily cope and easily shine at this level.
We’re delighted to bring in Alfie to add to our squad to compete for places in midfield and especially when everyone is back, the competition will be really strong so we’re delighted to bring Alfie in!”
