We are delighted to announce the signing of Bunmi Babajide!
21-year-old Bunmi Babajide joins the Clarets from National League South outfit Hampton & Richmond. The striker netted 19 goals in 36 games in the Isthmian League Premier last season for Carshalton Athletic, before he made the switch to the Beavers in the summer. At youth level, he played for both Millwall and Queen’s Park Rangers, before he departed the latter in 2020. Bunmi spent time at Corinthian-Casual, Waltham Abbey and Egham Town before his impressive spell with Carshalton.
Manager Robbie Simpson said: “We have had a couple of injuries up top and we have acted really quickly, we really like Bunmi.
We actually thought there was a deal with a National League club already done but when we got wind that wasn’t done, we were pretty quick to act, given our circumstances as well.
He is a lively player, when we played against Hampton earlier on in the season, even though we weren’t where we needed to be as a squad, Bunmi was a real handful up top, he didn’t give our defenders a moments rest.
He is the type of striker that will add something different to us in terms of his brightness and liveliness at the top end and it’s great to add another forward to our squad.
We’re really looking forward to getting Bunmi in and working with him!”
Welcome to the Clarets Bunmi!
