Chelmsford City Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of winger Josh Castiglione.

Castiglione joins the Clarets having spent the last couple of seasons at Hemel Hempstead Town after joining the Tudors in July 2021. Josh was a fan favourite at Royston Town before joining the Tudors and has seen a successful spell at Vauxhall Road during his two seasons in the Vanarama National League South. Josh has made 66 appearances in the National South with Hemel and adds another dimension to Robbie Simpson’s side into the new season.

Manager Robbie Simpson shared his thoughts on Josh joining the Clarets “Delighted to bring Josh to the football club, we were after another player who’s flexible, another wide player who could potentially play on both wings, and he’s clever enough to play in the 10 as well. we’ve been after that position for a little while and we had to be patient and make sure we could get the right one. Josh comes with a load of experience, he’s played a lot of games at this level to a very high level. His character is second to none, the fact that he’s captained hHemel on a number of occassions tells you everything about his character which is huge for us. We’re delighted to bring him to the football club and delighted he’s shown interest in us. We can’t wait for him to get bedded into what we do here and seeing him in a Claret shirt.”

Josh spoke on his move to the club “I spoke to Robbie earlier this week and the vision and direction that the club is going in is very appealing and something I wanted to be a part of going forwards. I can’t wait to get going and look forward to an exciting season ahead. I’m excited to play in front of the Clarets fans at The Melbourne Stadium.”
