Chelmsford City Ladies are delighted to reveal a change in the Club’s name and badge.
For 35 years, ‘Chelmsford City Ladies’ has been the name used when referring to the female Clarets teams, but Secretary Dawn Barnard felt that it was time for a change.
To be more inclusive and provide a better representation of the Club’s female players, the full name will now be ‘Chelmsford City Women and Girls’ Football Club’.
Speaking on the change of name and logo, Dawn, the only original member still at the Club, explained: “We represent a range of ages and backgrounds, and ‘women’ is a modern term for that.
“I also think that it sounds more athletic!”
The Club badge has also been altered to reflect the name change for Clarets Women.
