Job Description

Commitment: Home Games including pre-season
Hours:

  • Saturdays 12-4pm
  • Weekday evening (Monday or Tuesday) 6-9pm

Reports to: Sales and Marketing Director
Contract Type: Part-time, hourly paid

Pay: National Minimum Wage (in line with UK government rates)

Role Purpose

We’re looking for a reliable, organised, and customer-focused individual to manage the club shop on matchdays and fulfil online deliveries.

This role is key to delivering a professional retail experience for our fans, to helping to increase the presence of the Chelmsford City brand on matchdays and to generating revenue for the club.

Key Responsibilities

On Matchdays:

  • Open and set up the club shop before gates open.
  • Sell merchandise to fans before, during, at half time and after the game.
  • Create a welcoming, professional and attractive shop layout
  • Create a display of merchandise and/or branding outside the shop to encourage fans to buy.
  • Answer fan questions about products and availability.
  • Be proactive about getting feedback from fans about what items would be popular with fans.
  • In quiet periods process and prepare online orders for collection and delivery.
  • Once set up, arrange delivery arrangements through Royal Mail or courier service.
  • Report back to Director of Sales and Marketing after each game, flagging low stock levels, any issues and fan requests for products, issues with pricing, recommendations for improvements.

Other

  • Work with Director of Sales and Marketing and media team to proactively promote merchandise via the club’s media channels.

Ideal Candidate

  • Friendly and approachable with good customer service skills.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Organised and computer literate to handle card payments and online orders.
  • Good attention to detail to ensure all order processing is accurate.
  • Passionate about the club, about helping to increase CCFC brand presence and to supporting the club’s growth through revenue generation.

Desirable

  • Experience in retail or e-commerce.
  • Familiarity with a retail platform like Shopify or WooCommerce.
  • Ability to lift and move stock boxes when needed.
