Farnborough v Chelmsford City, National League South, Saunders Transport Community Stadium, Saturday 8th February 2025, 3:00pm kick-off.
Chelmsford City face Farnborough at the Saunders Transport Community Stadium this Saturday.
The Clarets will be looking to use the game in Hampshire as an opportunity to get back to winning ways after a run of four games without earning three points. City were denied the chance to go within four points of the summit of the table when they were beaten by then-table toppers Farnborough back in October, and will hope to exact their revenge at the Saunders Transport Community Stadium.
Boro supporters were left waiting until earlier this week to see their side pick up their first win of 2025. After recording a crucial midweek victory against Chesham United on Tuesday, Spencer Day’s men will be aiming to complete the double over City while marking back-to-back home wins and continuing their uplift in form.
Here’s all that Clarets supporters need to know ahead of the game…
Team and match stats:
- Farnborough have the joint-strongest home record in the National League South this season, having collected 32 of their 41 points at home.
- 10 out of their 12 league wins this season have come in home games.
- City are unbeaten in their last three visits to the Saunders Transport Community Stadium.

Opposition:
After an eye-catching start to the 2024-25 season, Spencer Day’s men came into their away game against the Clarets in October sitting at the top of the National League South, and their 2-1 win in Essex that day marked their eighth league victory of the campaign. Since then, the Hampshire-based side have picked up four league wins, which has thwarted their title charge and seen them drop to 11th in the standings. Their most recent league win came on Tuesday at home to Chesham United and marked their first victory of 2025.
Boro will have to win the game without player-coach Ricky Holmes in the side. Former City favourite Holmes has netted eight goals this season but was handed a red card early in his side’s trip to Salisbury City in January. Holmes will serve the last of his three-game ban against the Clarets.
Key men who long-serving Farnborough boss Spencer Day could call upon are Richard Chin and Aaron Kuhl, who have both impressed in a Boro shirt this season.

Ruaridh Donaldson featured from the bench against Bath City on Tuesday, which marked his first appearance since January 18th.
