I hope everyone is well and looking forward to Christmas and enjoying the World Cup so far, let’s hope for a positive result against France on Saturday.
I apologise that it has been a while since my last update but there has been plenty going on around the club.
Obviously on the pitch, the team has continued its good form with some very impressive results, congratulations to the players and management team, I see first-hand what hard work goes into each performance, and they are only getting the results they deserve.
It was good to see so many supporters attend the FA Cup game versus Barnet, it really hit home to me the potential the club has, it would be good to build on this and regularly get over 1000 each week.
Following this game, I met with numerous council representative and the local police who were very complimentary about how the game was managed and commented on the excellent behaviour of our supporters, so thank you all for that, I have also started the process of reviewing our current capacity and planning for all eventualities going forward.
Off the pitch I continue to work on engaging with local businesses and organisations, we have recently started working with Chelmsford City Council and the safety team running some sessions for vulnerable youths in the area, we have also recently submitted 2 grant applications that will aid the development of our community projects.
As Steve mentioned in previous program notes we are offering support to residents to use the club as a “warm space” this winter and also offer meals and/or food help where we can.
We continue to engage with potential sponsors and are working to develop a Customer Relation Management (CRM) system which will aid us moving forward, our website is still being developed with new content and additional functions being added.
A reminder that the share certificates are now available to collect from the club.
Finally on a sad note, everyone at the club was extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Les Willsher, I unfortunately didn’t get the pleasure of meeting him personally, however I have really enjoyed listening to the stories and reading the tributes, it is obvious what a great man Les was, my thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP Les.
Enjoy the upcoming games and I will take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
