Chelmsford City is delighted to share the news that Simeon Jackson has signed a new deal until the summer of 2023.

The striker first joined the Clarets in February last year, playing two games and scoring once before the Vanarama National League South was halted.

Simeon’s goal came on his debut for City, scoring a late consolation in the 4-1 defeat away to Oxford City.

Following the early end to the season, Jackson moved to National League side King’s Lynn Town, where the Canadian scored six in 17 appearances.

The 34-year-old attacker then returned to the EMG Inspire Stadium in July, this time also taking on the Head of Coaching and Community Ambassador roles.

Over his appearances in league and cup so far this term, Jackson has netted an impressive tally of 14 goals, making him the Club’s top scorer.

As well as his endeavours on the field, the striker has also assisted in coaching across the Club and recommenced school visits in the community.

Chelmsford City Manager Robbie Simpson commented: “Simeon’s been absolutely fantastic for us this season, both on and off the pitch.

“Now, with the world returning to normality, he’s doing ever such a good job in the community – going to schools and I know he had a workshop with the police the other day.

“He’s really buying into what the Club is all about and he’s been a real important figure within the Club, both around the place, in the community and, obviously, on the pitch.

“On the pitch, he’s a player that simply makes everyone else around him play better but then on top of that, he’s got a bit of magic and he knows where the goal is.

“He’s been such a good leader and an important cog to our turnaround in form.

“We’re absolutely delighted that he’s decided to stay with us as a football club because I know that other clubs have made him offers behind our back, which we weren’t very happy with, but Simeon showed total loyalty and didn’t entertain them.

“It just goes to show that he’s totally buying into what this club is all about now, we can’t thank him enough for his efforts and we look forward to having around the place for at least another 18 months.”

A full interview with the striker will follow on ClaretsTV over the coming days.

Congratulations on the new deal, Simeon!
