We can confirm that Jazzi Barnum-Bobb will depart following a mutual agreement between parties.

Jazzi re-joined the Clarets in July 2022 after joining in March 2018 and making 31 league appearances for the club before departing for the National League and Wrexham. In summer 2023, he was named club vice captain, deputising for Dave Winfield. He went on to make 38 appearances across the 23/24 season, functioning anywhere across the back 4. He was also called up to the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national team, seeing him currently sit on 6 international caps.

Jazzi made a combined 119 appearances for the Clarets, scoring just 1 goal for the Clarets, a memorable strike away to Weymouth in August 2023.

Manager Robbie Simpson said: “After ongoing discussions with Jazzi for quite some time now, he will be leaving the football club.

He obviously has been in discussion with other clubs as well as us, and we would have loved to have made it work with Jazzi but the direction that we are going in, and the direction which he is in right now with his career, life and football, we basically came to a mutual conclusion that he would be moving on.

Similar to Dave, a big thank you to Jazzi and I have said it many times over the past year; you do not have successful squad without people like him, he is the definition of a team player.

Outstanding player first and full most and he is so much more than a good right back at this level.

On and off the pitch he is a real leader and a real example of how to be a top professional and a top person and we will miss him.

We wish him all the best and he will be welcome back whenever he likes and good luck to him and a big thank you.”

Jazzi gave one final message to the Clarets fans: “I just want to say a massive thanks to the Clarets fans, it’s been some real special years back at the club.

It was 4 years in total that I’ve spent here and especially these last couple have been special, vice captaining the team and being part of such a special group has been amazing.

It has been really special and that is because of the people involved in the club, the players, the staff, the volunteers and the fans.

All the best for next season, I am sure there is some more big things to come and I will always keep my eye out for Chelmsford, they’ll always hold a special place with me and a massive thank you to everyone who helped me and supported me whilst I was there.

I am sure our paths will cross again but all the best Clarets fans and I hope to see you soon.”

Thank you for all your efforts in a Clarets shirts Jazzi, and best of luck for the future!
