We can confirm that Jermaine Francis has departed the Clarets in order to sign for a side in a higher division, subject to compensation.
Manager Robbie Simpson said: “Jermaine has been absolutely fantastic for us and our identity as a football club is down to people like him.
We saw something in him from playing at step 4 and being very good in that level and we saw something in him that we could nurture and develop him into a top player at National League South level.
I thought he was very unlucky not to make the National League South’s team of the year but quite rightly he was attracting a lot of interest from teams in the league above .
Although we would have loved to have kept him, we are a huge part of Jermaine’s journey forward and his tunnel vision of becoming a professional football player in the football league, one day.
That is something that we are particularly proud of and we couldn’t’ be prouder of Jermaine for all the efforts he has given us and the success that he has helped us achieve.
Jermaine will always be welcome back at Melbourne.”
Thank you for all your efforts in a Clarets shirts Jermaine, and best of luck for the future!
