Chelmsford City Football Club can confirm that young Forward, Anisius Lewis has agreed to join Basildon United on a Season Long Youth Loan
Lewis made his First Team debut in February 2021 against Oxford City and has since had loan spells with Hullbridge Sports, Bowers and Pitsea and Basildon United. He will once again link up with Darren Manning’s Bees for 2023/24.
Chelmsford City Manager Robbie Simpson commented “Anisius had a good spell at Basildon towards the end of last year and we would love for that to continue because we felt like he was developing his game really well there and getting used to Men’s football at Step 4 and we’d love for Anisius to continue that for at least the first part of this season with Basildon. He’s created great relationships there and knows the manager really well, we speak to the manager on a regular basis about where we feel Anisius could improve and then he gives us reports on how he’s done in the game. It was just a sensible, right decision to keep Anisius playing regular football, with lots of minutes each week and developing his game. Good luck to Anisius and we will be keeping a close eye on him.”
