Chelmsford City is delighted to announce the loan signing of QPR forward Ody Alfa until the end of the season, with the option of a 28 day recall for the R’s.
Nigerian born Ody, 23, signed for QPR when he was 14 and progressed through their academy to earn a professional contract. He is a winger or striker and is known for his electric pace which causes opposition defences problems and is a clever operator on the ball who can score as well as create opportunities.
He has spent time on loan in the Vanarama National League South as he has had previous spells at Billericay, Dartford as well as in the National League where he has played for Maidenhead and Aldershot. He has appeared against Chelmsford 3 times before, most recently for Aldershot at Melbourne in the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round tie back in October last year.
Chelmsford City manager Robbie Simpson commented upon bringing Ody to the club, “When Ody played against us for Aldershot earlier this season in the FA Cup, he was electric that day and when they substituted him we all turned around on the bench and we were relieved that he had gone off. We asked Adam Drew about him and Adam said he’s on loan from QPR so we kept an eye on the situation and he ended his loan spell with Aldershot last week and went back to his parent club.
He is both footed, he has got blistering pace and he has got great quality and we’re looking forward to bringing him into the squad and we want him to re-energise our squad and give us that extra impetus that we need from now until the end of the season.”
