Chelmsford City FC are delighted to announce the loan signing of Huddersfield Town’s Ernaldo Krasniqi.

Ernaldo, 19, has joined on an initial 28 day loan spell from the EFL Championship side and can play as either a central defensive midfielder player or he can be utilised at centre-back. Ernaldo is a physically imposing player, who uses his 6 foot 4 frame on the pitch to great effect.

He joined Huddersfield in 2019 from the Crown Pro Elite Academy in London, and has represented his country, Albania, at Under 17 and Under 19 level. He did have a loan spell in Scotland last season, where he spent some time at Falkirk, playing in Scottish League One, and also made appearances in the Challenge Cup and the Scottish FA Cup.

Former Huddersfield Town player and Chelmsford City manager Robbie Simpson spoke to us about his latest signing, “We’ve been discussing that we need to bring in some fresh players to re-energise the squad as we have played 39 games in all competitions by the end of January! The game at Hungerford on Tuesday accelerated our process as we picked up some suspensions and injuries down there.

We’ve been looking at Ernaldo for a couple of weeks and we’ve been speaking to Huddersfield about what would work for them and we’re really pleased to get it over the line. He’s a big presence with his size, but he’s also got youthful energy and he is really good on the ball as well. He’s two-footed, and can play centrally in midfield and defence so that versatility really appealed to us. We’re really excited to bring him to the football club and we really hope he enjoys his time here.”
