Chelmsford City Football Club can confirm that forward Reece Grant has joined fellow Vanarama National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town.
During his time with the Clarets, Grant made 14 appearances scoring 3 goals in just under 3 months with the Clarets after joining from Dover Athletic on 20th December 2022.
Manager Robbie Simpson spoke on Grant’s departure “Hemel called us yesterday enquiring about Reece. We brought Reece to the club as we feel that Reece could help us with Promotion. He got suspended and injured so found himself out of the team. We still feel like Reece could play a big part in our promotion push.”
“The Hemel Manager has worked with Reece before and has made a very good offer to Reece, not only on the pitch but off it in terms of duration also. It’s something that Reece in terms of where he is with his family, he can’t turn down. Reece sacrificed a lot of money from Dover to join us, meaning he had to go back on a building site 5 days a week and train with us.”
“He felt like that was putting his body through unwanted stress and the injury that he picked up is in the forefront of his mind for those reasons. Reece has got to look after the future of him and his wonderful young family.”
“We thank Reece for every effort he’s given us, and we wish him the best of luck at Hemel.”
We all wish Reece the very best of luck for his move to Hemel and for his future and thank him for his effort during his time with the club.
