Chelmsford City Football Club are delighted to announce that Rob Moore has joined the club in the role of Head of Development Pathway

A development pathway for players from Youth through to men’s football is a cornerstone of the Clarets10 vision and whilst good progress has been made the management team have reviewed the pathway and agreed that it needed more focus and could be improved.

One outcome of that review is that Rob Moore is joining the club in a new role as Head of Development Pathway. In particular, he will work with players in the Academy, alongside Mickey Spillane, and their progression into Men’s football.

Manager Robbie Simpson commented,

“We’re delighted to bring Rob on board as Head of Development Pathway. We’ve known Rob for some time now through his previous role at Hullbridge. He’s a fantastic bloke and he sees football and clubs, particularly bringing through youth, in exactly the same way as us. As soon as I met him, I just thought he would be a perfect fit for what we are trying to achieve.”

“Rob will be in charge from when players leave the Academy, through to either the first team or elsewhere. We believe the club has a duty of care for all those players from the Academy whether they make the Chelmsford City First Team or not. Primarily we want them to come through into our first team but we realise that isn’t going to be the case for all of them and a large majority of them won’t.”

“We’re delighted to welcome Rob on board, he’s raring to get going and stay tuned for further announcements on the Pathway”

We extend our warmest Welcome to Rob Moore in joining the Clarets in what is a very exciting new role within the Clarets Pathway and look forward to seeing Rob working in and around the club in the future.
