The club are devastated to learn that former youth team player and U16 EJA captain Teddie Marks has seen a serious illness, that he underwent treatment for, return.
Teddie was diagnosed with a rare aggressive cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma in Jan 2022 at 16 years old. He has gone through 6 months of gruelling chemotherapy , operations and proton beam therapy and was cancer free for 6 months.
Unfortunately he relapsed in Feb 2023 and underwent more chemotherapy and another operation. After 7 months of treatment it has now stopped responding.
The day before his 18th birthday he was told no further treatment was available on the NHS but Teddie has been given a positive outcome if he can raise the funds, he can have pioneering treatment called Dendric Cell Therapy.
Teddie was a CCFC player and football was his passion, unfortunately, this was destroyed due to having cancer and the operations he had in the Pelvis.
As a club we are supporting Teddie and his family as they push to raise the funds required and give him a future to look forward to, a link to his go fund me page can be found Fundraiser for Teddie Marks by Lorraine Cavanagh : Please help! Teddie needs life saving treatment (gofundme.com).
The club will be welcoming Teddie and his family to our FA Cup fixture on the 14th October, where we will hold a bucket collection, the club will also be looking at other fundraising opportunities to support.
