Chelmsford City FC are delighted to announce that Midfielder Louis Dunne has agreed a deal to see him continue to play his football with the Clarets into the 2024/25 Season, as well as taking up a coach role too!
Manger Robbie Simpson said: “I am absolutely thrilled that Louis has accepted this role!
I feel that it is a big opportunity for him but also a big step for him, coming into a player/coach role despite stull being in his twenties.
One thing we know from his work in the community as well as in the academy is that he is a fantastic coach and he is something that represents everything good that we are doing at the football club so to have him in this role is amazing.
Also, as a player, he has obviously had a year of getting back fit from the horrible injury that he suffered down at St Albans in December 2022 but his dedication to getting back fit, and he went out on loan to get match fit before he came back.
I think that something that he could really do with is a full pre season and hopefully he can get back to the levels that he was showing before that horrible injury because he was a really top performer midfielder at this level and we are looking forward to getting him back to that as a players.
And then as a coach as part of my first team staff, especially with us going to 2 optional morning a week, as well as that under 21s side, he is going to be such an asset to the football club and me and my management team so I am delighted that Louis is staying.”
We look forward to seeing Louis back out with the squad at the start of Pre-Season as well as seeing him in his new role!
