Chelmsford City v Enfield Town, National League South, EMJ Community Stadium, Saturday 12th April 2025, 3:00pm kick-off.
Chelmsford City welcome Enfield Town to Essex for the club’s penultimate home game of the season.
The Clarets are looking to consolidate their place in the top half of the National League South table this weekend by recording back-to-back wins for the first time since February, after a young City XI beat Chippenham Town last weekend.
Gavin Macpherson’s Enfield Town side are unbeaten in their last six matches, having drawn their last three games and won the three prior to that run of stalemates.
Enfield’s strong form in 2025 has lifted the club out of the relegation places and one position above the danger zone; the Towners hold a three-point advantage over 21st-place St Albans City. The North Londoners will be aiming to secure a league double over City this weekend and further increase the buffer between themselves and the drop zone.
Here’s all that Clarets supporters need to know ahead of the game…
Team and match stats:
- Enfield have conceded 77 National League South goals this season, the joint-highest tally in the league.
- Chelmsford City are the only team in the National League South that Enfield can record a league double over in 2024–25.
- North Londoners Enfield last visited Chelmsford in the 2021–22 campaign, in the FA Cup third qualifying round.

Opposition:
Enfield Town have put themselves in pole position to earn National League South survival in their first season back in the division, following a remarkable 2025.
The North Londoners began the calendar year at the bottom of the league table, but have since climbed above the relegation zone after turning their fortunes around following a win over Robbie Simpson’s Clarets in the reverse fixture between the sides on January 4th. That victory marked the first of eight league wins Enfield have secured so far in 2025, placing the Towners eighth in the form table since the beginning of January.
Midfielder Sam Youngs has stepped up to the National League South and continued to be Enfield Town’s talisman in the sixth tier. Youngs scored 23 goals in the Isthmian Premier Division last term and could surpass the 20-goal mark once again this season, having netted 16 league goals in 2024–25—two of which came against the Clarets earlier in the campaign.
Lennon Peake might be another danger man in the Enfield side who City will need to nullify this weekend. The West Ham academy graduate has made nine National League South goal contributions this season and is returning to form after recently recovering from an injury that kept him out of action for more than a month earlier this year. Peake (pictured below) recorded an assist against the Clarets in the reverse fixture.

Team news:
Ryan Blackman missed last weekend’s win against Chippenham Town due to illness and will hope to return to the matchday squad this weekend.
Blackman’s absence paved the way for Kennedy Mupomba to make his first National League South start, and after producing a Man of the Match performance against the Bluebirds, Mupomba could be in line to feature again.
Harry Barbrook looks likely to be unavailable for the remainder of the season after picking up an injury last month.
