We are delighted to announce the signing of Defender Geofrey Okonkwo!
Geofrey played for fellow Essex side Bowers & Pitsea last season, helping Bowers to a Isthmian North playoff final victory over Brentwood Town. Okonkwo made 37 appearances across the season and chipped in with 3 goals which saw him pick up the supporters player of the year award. Previously, he has been on the books of Braintree Town, Grays Athletic, VCD Athletic FC, Staines Town and Greenwich.
Manager Robbie Simpson said: “Geofrey is a big, strong, tall centre back that lead Bowers & Pitsea to promotion this season.
Bowers had a fantastic season, getting promoted and he was an integral part of that and a real leader of that back line and we know a few people at Bowers who have recommended him throughout the season and again in this off season.
We have done a bit more due diligence, watched him with as many clips as we could get and we obviously watched the playoff final and we feel like his is someone that can really progress his game with us.
We are really looking forward to having his presence and his pace as part of our back line, adding to our options back there.
