Chelmsford City can announce that Kai Yearn has been recalled by his parent club, Sky Bet League One side Cambridge United.
Kai, 17, joined the Clarets on 12th September 2022, and made his debut that evening as a substitute against Oxford City in a 1-0 win.
Kai went on to make 19 appearances for the club, scoring 2 goals in back to back wins over Redditch in the FA Trophy and then away at Worthing in the Vanarama National League South. Such was his form and popularity with supporters that he was nominated for the Clarets’ November Player of the Month award.
Yearn made his Football League debut for Cambridge when aged just 16 as a substitute in April 2022 and also has been scoring goals in another successful run in the FA Youth Cup for Cambridge where they have progressed into the 4th Round where they will take on either Chelsea or Bradford at the Abbey Stadium. Yearn has scored doubles against Stevenage and Portsmouth in previous rounds.
All at Chelmsford City thank Kai for his efforts in a Claret shirt and we wish him the best of luck in his future footballing career.
