We can now announce our pre season schedule ahead of the upcoming season!
We will play 8 games across 26 days ahead of the upcoming 2024/2025 season!
Tuesday July 9th – Sudbury (A) – The MEL group stadium – 19:45pm KO
For our first game we will travel up to Suffolk to face Sudbury who are currently members of the Southern League Premier Division Central. Their status in that league went right down to the wire, as they ensured survival late on in the season, finishing 18th.
Saturday July 13th – Hertford Town (A) – Hertingfordbury Park – 13:00pm KO
A trip to Hertford Town is our first weekend game in the pre season schedule. They are members of the Southern League Division One Central where they finished 14th last season.
Tuesday July 16th – Billericay Town (A) – New Lodge – 19:45pm KO
A side no stranger to the Clarets, Billericay Town will be our third friendly. A local rival who have been in the Isthmian Premier for the past 2 seasons, after they suffered relegation from the Vanarama National League South in 2022.
Saturday July 20th – Royston Town (A) – Garden Walk – 15:00pm KO
Hertfordshire based Royston are in the Southern League Premier Division Central alongside Sudbury. They finished 10th last season and have been in the league for the past 6 years.
Monday July 22nd – Barnet (H) – Melbourne Community Stadium – 19:45pm KO
The Clarets will host National League side Barnet at the Melbourne Community Stadium. Barnet have snapped up the Clarets’ managers player of the season Jermaine Francis as they look to obtain promotion from the National League.
Wednesday July 24th – MK Dons (H) – Melbourne Community Stadium – 19:45pm KO
League 2 side MK Dons will visit Essex, as the Clarets’ penultimate home game of their pre season schedule. Last season, MK Dons reached the League 2 playoffs before being defeated by Crawley Town. They are also a former club of our manager, Robbie Simpson.
Tuesday July 30th – Witham Town (A) – Spa Road – 19:45pm KO – Tolleshunt D’Arcy Memorial Cup Final
The Clarets will face Witham Town in the Tolleshunt D’Arcy Memorial Cup final in pre season. Witham overcame Clacton in the Semi-Finals whilst the Clarets beat last year’s winners Heybridge Swifts.
Saturday August 3rd – Southend Town (H) – Melbourne Community Stadium – 15:00pm KO
Finally, Southend United visits the Melbourne Community Stadium for the final pre season game. The Shrimpers would have reached the National League playoffs last year, if it weren’t for a 10 point deduction.
