Clarets manager, Robbie Simpson, shared his thoughts on new signing Arjanit Krasniqi and explained how the deal came about.
There was a lot of work that went into getting the deal over the line but the Clarets already knew what sort of player Krasniqi was and what he would bring to the table after the Clarets had faced Dover earlier this season. “Arj was definitely a player that we really liked. When we did our due diligence on Dover when we played them, we kind of singled him out as one of their better players. So, of course we were we were going to be interested with if he became available and obviously with the news that he’d parted Dover by mutual consent.”
There was a lot of work that went into getting the deal over the line, and it was never going to be an easy situation for the Clarets to land their man but it was a signing that would really help the club going forward.
Simpson elaborated on the situation of signing Krasniqi saying how time was of the essence. “We were trying to be as quick as we can because we knew that he’d have quite a few offers from clubs. So we told him about Chelmsford. Obviously, Reece helped, and I think he knows a few of the other lads really well as well. So that helped, and we’re delighted to have him you know, since obviously the bad injury to Louis”
He then explained how the injury to Louis Dunne opened up a space in the Claret’s midfield and when Krasniqi became available it was a player of great interest to join the club and make a real difference. “We know that Louis is someone that we kind of needed to replace because Louis gives us something unique in that midfield in certain games and we feel like Arj is a pretty good replacement for Louis and he’s a bit different to Louis. Arj is a left footed midfield player, energetic, can play a number of roles actually in that in that midfield, he’s a tough cookie as well.”
Simpson concluded by saying “We’re delighted to have him at the football club and just add to our squad and give us real competition for places and depths, in the way we want to play, in different scenarios. So yeah, we’re really pleased to get him over the line, and we can’t wait to see him feature for us.”
