Chelmsford City is pleased to reveal that the Academy will face Arsenal’s Under-18s in a friendly next month.

On Saturday, 3rd July, the Premier League club’s youngsters will be travelling to Essex to face Mickey Spillane’s side.

Kick-off against the Gunners will be at 2pm at the EMG Inspire Stadium.

The Club is also pleased to reveal that some of the proceeds from the fixture will be used to fund the UEFA A License of Academy Assistant Manager Elliott Ward, who recently retired from playing football but will be staying with City in a coaching capacity.

Arsenal’s Under-18s will face the Clarets after a season in which they finished fourth in the U18 Premier League South.

Over their 24-game season, the North London outfit won 12, drew four and lost eight.

In the FA Youth Cup, the Gunners made it to the quarter-finals of the competition, where they were beaten by Liverpool.

The Academy’s game against Arsenal Under-18s will offer supporters their first chance to return to the EMG Inspire Stadium since the Vanarama National League South game against Bath City in December.

Due to Covid restrictions, the number of supporters allowed in attendance will still be reduced.
